Organizational Advancement Specialist
Omar approaches fundraising and philanthropy as a method of economic reparations and political education to change the inherent racial and economic inequities in society. In his role as a specialist, he supports fundraising efforts and moves management through database (CRM) administration, portfolio management, prospect research, and data visualization.
Prior to Common Future, Omar worked within advocacy spaces on criminal justice reform, immigration reform, human rights and grassroots organizing relating community safety and empowerment in the Bay Area. He holds a Master’s in Human Rights Education and a Bachelor’s in History with an emphasis on Middle Eastern and Islamic studies.
Outside of work, Omar enjoys hiking nature’s trails, “hustling” 8-ball, adding video games to his collection—and not playing them, and volunteering with nonprofit organizations to expand their Salesforce (CRM) needs. Omar is originally from Egypt with both Egyptian and Filipino heritage. He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
