We place equity at the center of our work.
We are a racial justice organization and must center equity first and foremost in order to dismantle the oppressive systems that permeate every aspect of our lives.
We are the communities that we serve.
Our economic systems are broken because marginalized people are purposefully excluded and overlooked by those who hold power. Even though we are the ones that bear the brunt of these decisions, we do not have a seat at the table when these decisions are made.
We embrace experimentation in the face of change.
As a think and do tank, we create impact by taking calculated risks and conducting adaptable experiments to quickly learn and iterate in order to solve problems.
We expand our thinking to reimagine what’s broken.
There are no easy answers to the challenges we face. We promote an adaptable leadership style in order to do our work.
We take a collective approach to solving problems.
We believe that having the right humans, working on the right problems, at the right time can unlock necessary change. We’re not bound by assumed structures.
We model a new way of working.
The traditional workplace was developed in industrial times and deliberately treated humans as machines. It’s a long road to create systematic change. It’s a marathon, not a race, and we need to adjust expectations accordingly.
