About Pat
Pat Riley was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended college in Dallas, at SMU earning a degree in Psychology (‘77). At SMU, Pat competed on the swim team and co-captained the water polo team. Pat earned two post graduate degrees; an MBA from SMU and an MIM (Int’l Mgmt.) from the American Graduate School of International Management (aka Thunderbird) in Glendale Arizona. From 1980-1985, Pat worked for a bank in Houston, taught racquetball at a health club in San Francisco and worked as a bank consultant in Dallas. From 1985-2013 Pat developed and managed a health/fitness/tennis business in Little Rock. The company owned/operated four clubs (Little Rock Athletic Club, Little Rock Racquet Club, North Little Rock Athletic Club, Downtown Athletic Club) with a staff of 350, serving 17,000 members (7,000 memberships).
