About Mark

Mark is the Director of Administration and Finance at the Hyams Foundation, a place-based private foundation working to bring about racial and economic justice in the communities of Boston and Chelsea. He currently on the board of the Schott Foundation for Public Education and is the chair of the finance committee. Mark is also serves as the treasurer of Home Funders in which Hyams Foundation invested a $3million PRI loan for affordable housing for extremely Low Income (ELI) families. In addition, Mark is a new member of the board for Neighborhood Funders Group (NFG). In the early 1980’s, right after college Mark spent about three years working with the Gullah community in Beaufort County, South Carolina. This was his introduction to community development and organizing and a life-changing experience.
