About Julie

Working at the groundbreaking nexus of wellbeing and community policy, Julie champions projects that help all segments of the community flourish. She grew up New York, went to college in Massachusetts, and now lives in Santa Monica, California. Julie has led a range of human service, cultural, education, recreation, and placemaking initiatives, and has spent 30 years working in the realms of local government and nonprofit management. She has pioneered nationally-recognized efforts to tackle profound social issues, bringing compassion to her work. She recently led Santa Monica’s Cradle to Career Initiative and crafted Santa Monica’s award-winning Local Wellbeing Index. Julie spearheaded Santa Monica’s winning 2016 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health prize submission. Julie serves on Board of the Human Relations Council, received League of Women Voters “Women Who Shape Santa Monica” award and created the City’s first ever Wellbeing Summit in 2019.
